El monacato y los monasterios

A partir del siglo II, la vida del monje o de las personas alejadas de la sociedad se presenta arraigada como una doble tendencia: primero, al ascetismo que intenta purificarse de sus pecados y segunda, al misticismo, es decir, realizar de alguna manera en este mundo su unión con Dios. Así, en el monacato se favorece el desarrollo de la educación, cultura y perfeccionamiento de la naturaleza humana, la cual es diferente o consta de varias etapas dependiendo de la congregación a la que pertenece. Pero, al aislarse del mundo, los religiosos empiezan a construir los lugares en donde habitarán, denominados monasterios, los cuales, a parte de su función primordial, son verdaderas obras de arte. El origen del monacato surge en Oriente y se extenderá a Occidente. Starting from the second century, the life of a monk or the separeted persons from the comunity appear
