Pluralismo y laicidad: un aprendizaje inminente tras el bicentenario

Abstract

Hace algunos meses se re-inauguró la Casa-Museo del 20 de julio, donde se exhibe restaurado el famoso “Florero de Llorente” que diera lugar a una de las anécdotas más importantes de la celebración de la independencia de Colombia y su proceso político como república. El hecho de conservar esa pieza “rota” nos muestra la necesidad de aprender a recrear el tiempo para tomar conciencia de la historia de lo que un objeto puede significar: distinción y exclusión, por no decir segregación y repudio de la diferencia en un marco de tensiones de la Iglesia Católica en su relación con el Estado laico en Colombia.

A few months ago, the House-Museum from July 20 was put a varnishing day, where restored exhibits the famous "Vase of Llorente" that gave rise to one of the most important stories of the celebration of the independence of Colombia and its political process as a Republic. The fact to preserve that piece "broken" shows us the need to learn how to recreate the time to be aware of the history of what an object can mean: distinction and exclusion, not to mention segregation and repudiation of the difference in a context of tension of the Catholic Church in relation to the secular State in Colombia.
