Las relaciones iglesia-estado en el siglo XIX, a la luz del constitucionalismo mexicano
Resumen
Este trabajo tiene el propósito de exponer el devenir histórico de las relaciones entre la Iglesia y el Estado mexicano, a través del análisis de las disposiciones que, en las diversas constituciones de nuestro país, han regido en esta materia. El autor analiza los conceptos de religión y de libertad religiosa, así como el desarrollo histórico de esta última en nuestro país: partiendo de la absoluta protección que brindaba a la religión católica la Carta Magna de 1824 como la única legalmente reconocida en México, el brusco rompimiento de relaciones e incluso la privación de libertades fundamentales al clero; y hasta la actualidad. /
This paper intends to explain the history of the relations between the Church and the Mexican Nation, through analysis of the dispositions that in the diverse Constitutions of our country, have prevailed in this matter. The author analyzes the concepts of religion and religious freedom, as well as the historical development of it in our country: starting from the absolute protection that the Constitution of 1824 offered to the catholic religion as the only legally recognized in Mexico, through the abrupt breaking of relations and even the deprivation of fundamental rights to the clergy; and until the present time.
