La universidad medieval: orígenes y finalidades
Abstract
It is common to find in the studies carried out on the origins of the medieval university various opinions that have little to do with their
formation and their institutional purposes. It is said, by the way, that
the university arose spontaneously, naturally or that it was created by
the Church, by kings or by feudal lords. None of these statements is true
because the initiative was of the new social class that is formed in the
city burghers, which breaks with the Trinitarian idea that the Medieval
was a society made up of those who pray and those who work.
