México-COVID19: crónica de una emergencia económica

Abstract

La economía mexicana se encuentra atravesando una emergencia económica. Desde 2017 con la elección de Donald Trump como presidente de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica (EE. UU.), se comenzó a desacelerar el crecimiento ya que desde la Casa Blanca se afirmaba sería el fin del TLCAN, posteriormente apareció la amenaza de imponer aranceles si no se cerraba la frontera a los migrantes centroamericanos y finalmente se aprobó un nuevo Tratado Comercial (T-MEC) con claras ventajas para la economía norteamericana. A lo anterior se sumaron las tensiones comerciales entre los EE. UU. y China que crearon un entorno adverso para el desarrollo de la actividad productiva en el mundo.

The Mexican economy is undergoing an economic emergency. Since 2017, with the election of Donald Trump as the President of the United States of America (USA), growth began to slow down since, from the White House, it was claimed that it would be the end of NAFTA. Later, the threat of imposing tariffs appeared if the border was not closed to Central American migrants. Finally, a new Trade Agreement (T-MEC) was approved with clear advantages for the North American economy. Added to the above, trade tensions between the USA and China appeared that created an adverse environment for the development of productive activity in the world.
