La investigación en la Universidad La Salle, México: antecedentes y estado actual

Abstract

En la Universidad La Salle, la investigación como función sustantiva se desarrolla oficialmente a partir de la creación del denominado "Centro de Investigación" (CI-ULSA) en 1991; dependencia adscrita a la Dirección de Posgrado e Investigación (DPI). Sin embargo, se puede considerar su inicio desde 1979 al proponerse como uno de los objetivos de la Dirección de Posgrado la realización de investigación, el cual cristaliza con la creación, en 1982, del Comité Coordinador de Investigación (CCI). En 1994, la ULSA comienza un proceso de autoestudio integral, del cual se desprenden algunas recomendaciones cuyo fin es el fortalecimiento institucional y mejora continua; este esfuerzo da origen a la propuesta de diversos planes de acción en el Plan de Desarrollo Institucional de la ULSA. En este contexto, la DPI pasa por un proceso interno de reestructuración de sus funciones, programas y actividades, de tal forma que a partir de 1999, el CI-ULSA pasa a conformar la actual Coordinación General de Investigación (CGI); la cual se organiza, a su vez, en cinco Jefaturas de Área para coordinar las actividades académicas de los investigadores de la Universidad. En este trabajo se presentan los antecedentes de la forma en que se desarrolla e impulsa la investigación en nuestra Institución, los avances logrados en la etapa de existencia del Centro y la estructura, organización y funcionamiento actual. Finalmente se muestran los avances logrados en esta función sustantiva de la Universidad La Salle y se señalan las perspectivas a futuro.

At the Universidad La Salle, the research as primary function has been developed officially since the setup of the Research Center (CI-ULSA) in 1991; this center is under the management of the Direccion de Posgrado e Investigación (DPI). Nevertheless, the begining of the Center can be tracked back since 1979, when the Dirección de Posgrado proposed as one of its goals the development of research, this goal is consolidated with the creation, in 1982, of the Cómite Coordinador de Investigación (CCI). In 1994, the ULSA begins a process of evaluation, some recomendations were developed with the goal of strenghten and improve the institution; this effort promoted a series of plans induded in the institutional development program of the ULSA. Under this context, the DPI passes through an internal process of rebuilding its functions, programs and activities, in such a way that since 1999, the CI-ULSA is structured as the Coordinación General de Investigación (CGI); the CGI is organized in five areas with the function of coordinate the academic activities of the researchers at the University. In this work are presented the backgroud about the development of the research at our university, the achievements in the current stage as CI-ULSA, and the structure, organization, and operation at present. Finally, the advances and the future trends for the research at the Universidad La Salle are adressed
