Construcción y deconstrucción social de una emoción: tecnociencia, amor y performance

Abstract

En este artículo planteamos una discusión a partir de las características generales de la Psicología Social de las Emociones y las aportaciones desde diferentes disciplinas de esta área de investigación, a fin de dar sentido a la relación que tienen las emociones con el lenguaje. Así, hemos revisado referencias bibliográficas básicas para el estudio de la construcción de una emoción, las hemos organizado temáticamente y clasificado en 3 grandes categorías: (1) antecedentes y aportaciones desde diferentes perspectivas; (2 ) enfoque construccionista y de-construccionista de la emoción; y, (3) enfoque postconstruccionista de la emoción. En la primera categoría hemos considerado las principales aportaciones desde las Ciencias Sociales, las cuales se pueden sintetizar en dos áreas: el carácter filosófico en la construcción de una emoción y el pasaje entre la filosofía y la psicología mainstream de la emoción. En la segunda categoría hemos trazado una línea que empieza con la relación entre emoción y lenguaje y la construcción social de la emoción, es decir, su perspectiva discursiva. Finalizamos con las teorías post construccionistas, centrándonos en el concepto de performance de Judith Butler y la tecnociencia. Para dar mayor sentido a esta línea de estudio nos ha parecido oportuno utilizar como ejemplo una emoción en particular, el amor.

In this article we set a discussion based on the general characteristics of Social Psychology of Emotions and the contributions from different disciplines within this research field, in order to provide meaning to the relationship between emotions and language. Thus, we have reviewed basic bibliography references for the study of the building up of an emotion and classified them in three major categories: 1) antecedents and contributions from different perspectives; 2) emotion constructionist and de-constructionist approach; and, 3) emotion post-constructionist approach. In the first category we have considered the main contributions from Social Sciences which may be synthesized in two areas: the philosophical nature in the building up of an emotion and the passage between the mainstream philosophy and psychology of emotions. In the second category we have traced a line that starts with the relationship between emotion and language, and the emotion social construction, that is to say, its discursive perspective. We finish with the post constructionist theories, focusing in the concept of performance, by Judith Butler and techno-science. To provide this path of study with more meaning we have seen opportune to utilize, as an example, a particular emotion: love.
