Otomíes y Nahuas en las Doctrinas Agustinas de la Sierra Alta durante el Siglo XVI
Abstract
La evangelización de la Huasteca y Sierra Alta del Estado de Hidalgo estuvo en manos de la orden de San Agustín , quienes adoctrinaron y culturizaron a los indígenas otomies y nahuas de la región.
Muchas de las costumbres que los frailes implantaron en estas comunidades, han permanecido desde el siglo XVI hasta nuestros días. Este estudio muestra la supervivencia de antiguos ritos establecidos por los agustinos en estos pueblos. The order of Saint Agustin brought the Gospel to the indíans of la Huasteca an Sierra Alta, in the mexican state of Hidalgo. The Gospel wal also a way to give to the indians cultural patterns of the hispanic civilization.
Many of the habits introduced by the friars in these communities survive since the sixteenth century till our days. The current research shows how ancient ri es established by the Agustinians. survive still among the otomies and nahuas indians in our time.
